Looking at the front of the purse, start behind the #8 stake and weave over #9, round the corner, and U-O-U the side. Crimp the other back corner and weave U-O-U the side, round the front corner, over the #1 stake and behind #2.

10. You are now going to start the sides. Lay the working round down on the table and pull the coil up and place it on top of the last row. Insert the needle from the back to front at a 45 degree angle from right to left, and coming out about 1/2 way up through the row that is on the table. See DIAGRAM 5. Finish the wheat stitch and continue up for about two inches. 11. As you get closer to two inches in height, remove the gauge and stop adding needles. Cut the longest needles back randomly as in DIAGRAM 6.
